UFC fan favorites Matt Hamill & Jon Jones have agreed to do battle December 5th.

Hamill was supposed to fight Brandon Vera at UFC 102, but suffered a knee injury that forced him to pull out of the bout.

Jones recently signed a new deal with the UFC, and has yet to suffer defeat.

Both camps have verbally agreed and are awaiting the bout agreement.

    Really interesting matchup…

Been a Matt Hamill fan since his appearance on TUF. I like the tough wrestling style, and he’s upped his striking game. Hamill has the kind of full body strength that makes it difficult to scramble with him on the ground, and with his last win by headkick knockout, he’s become a danger standing as well.

Jon Jones has really exploded on the UFC LHW scene. He’s definitely got the goods and the style to give any opponent a hard night in the Octagon. His combination of wrestling and muy thai has given him major tools in both primary fighting areas of MMA, and he’s proven he can handle experienced competition with his wins over Stepan Bonnar and Jake O’Brien.

With his speed, athleticism, and spontaneous reactions, I think Jones will have an edge here, but Matt Hamill is a tough challenge, and should give Jones a hard fight.

I would not bet on this one. Talk about a battle of “Young Lions” in the UFC’s LHWT division!!! This could be FOTN!!! Jones is so impressive and explosive and Hamil is Gorilla strong and right at home on the ground…this is one fight I will be waiting 4!!!
