Rampage is not happy with Dana White's comments.
MMA Junkie is reporting that the former light heavyweight champion and coach on the current season of The Ultimate Fighter is calling it quits.
Apparently the full story is on a blog on Rampage’s website which tells of troubles from the time he signed with UFC and up to the present when he decided to accept the role in the upcoming A-Team movie.
While he was scheduled to face opposing coach Rashad Evans at UFC 107 the UFC president Dana White seems to be feuding with Rampage over his decision to chose acting over MMA. But time will tell if Rampage is under a contractual obligation to fight Evans.

read the full articale on mma junkie.i thought it was strange why rampage didnt fight machida and did tuf 10,i made up my own mind and though that he went on tuf 10 for more fanbase and money.big up rampage, big loss to the lhw division in the ufc but i dont think hwe’s done with fighting,i see strikeforce in the future.
i have 2 beleive that someone will steo in this situation will be mended. Sometimes Dana needs to shut his fu@ken mouth and or watch what the hell flies outta it.Rampage is one fighter that can carry a card with his fight alone, ya feel me!!!
Couldn’t agree more J, Dana always calims to be the calmer of problems (Or so to speak) but all I ever hear is shit coming from his mouth casing bother! Rampage is a former LHW Champ, since when do you start jaw jacking shit about them? Look what happened when he did it with Tito and Randy? Behind the scenes he will have had to do some serious brown nosing to sort these rifts. Dana stick to ploughing money into the UFC and STOP chatting shit!!!
i know he has upset rampage but dana is here to put on cards.ramp said he didnt want to fight chuck so soon, wand silva last december and jardine.i liked all those fights and im glad dana made him do them.ramp wanted to do this movie and put back the evans bout a month which i could see dana doing but he has a reputation,if he let rampage do that then all the fighters will be saying i want to put the fight back a month.rivera missed his baby being born to get in the ufc,he will feel pissed if rampage getys time off to go movies, not to mention it was set in jacksons home town now dana had to move sanches vs bj penn to fill it and i know with it being jacksons home town they would have wanted to see ramp vs evans not the penn vs sanches.i see both sides but dana is a boss and he has to make decisions that aint going to make everyone happy.jackson aint going to have a movie career,he’s a fighter born and bread and he aint leaving, this is a scare tactic.
Daley has good points but i stand by my earlier comments
Simply put, Rampage fucked up. Let me first say I’m not knocking his decision to stop fighting if that’s what he really wants. However, I don’t think he can hack it with an acting career, considering the fact that he can barely even talk. I know he has to do what’s best for him, and I respect that, but he may or may not have burned some bridges. You can say what you want about Dana, but he has a right to be angry. He’s made Ramoage a star in the U.S., and Rampage has screwed him. He was offerred a title shot against Machida, and turned it down for TUF 10. Now, he’s backing out of his fight with Rashad as well, and ruined the UFC’s plans for that event. Dana has a right to be angry and say what he wants because he can and he’s pretty much right. We all know that there’s not much of an acting career awaiting Quinton, and he backed out of a committment to pursue it. Don’t forget that Rashad has been training for this fight, away from his friends and family, all for nothing now.
As for Dana in relation to Tito and Dana…what do you mean look what happened with them Dillips? Neither of them got a fight outside the UFC, and now they’re back. Randy clearly violated his contract, and Tito was never going to fight outside Zuffa, and Dana WHite knew it. Besides, Rampage is not nearly the draw that Randy and Tito are. Furthtermore, if he goes to Strikeforce, what’s he gonna do? Lose to Mousasi, then what? Maybe he’s got something up his sleeve as far as acting is concerned, but if he decides to return to fighting, and I think he will, he better hope the UFC will take him back. I’m sure the UFC would, but you guys are kidding yourselves if you think the UFC needs to worry about Rampage fighting in Strikeforce or somewhere else. I don’t care how many fights he gets on CBS, it won’t be the opportunity that the UFC has been for him.
And since when has Dana White had to brown nose with anybody? He makes or breaks fighters’ careers, and Rampage is certainly no exception.
as mma fanbase rises so will the money and so will the bullshit with everyone trying to make more money, just like boxing.
with that i also meant fame and opportunityies with your popularity of being well known.
Daley, you are right except that the rise of MMA isn’t really the rise of MMA, at least not in the U.S. It’s really the rise of the UFC, which is a good and bad thing, but mostly a good thing. Under Dana WHite, the UFC has become extremely famous and popular, and is becoming moreso as we speak. However, do most people know what MMA is? No. They know what the UFC is, and they know what “ultimate fighting is,” as much as I hate hearing people call it that, it’s true. Unlike in boxing, which has it’s “Big Four” promotional organizations, MMA has the UFC. The UFC has built such strength and brand recognition for itself that it practically IS MMA nowadays. This is why organizations like Strikeforce have so much trouble getting to that level, because they can’t compete with the UFC brand. It doesn’t matter if they have Fedor Emelianenko because it’s the UFC brand that is so poppular, not the UFC’s fighters, even if they are themselves very popular. If Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell, and Tito Ortiz never fought in the UFC, they wouldn’t be so popular, just like fighters such as Wanderlei Silva and Nogueira are just a good, and just as legendary in our minds, but not to everyone else, because they didn’t make their names in the porganization with the most recognizable brand, at least in the United States. The marketing machine behind the UFC is brilliant. Why do you guys think all those dumbasses still think Ken Shamrock is the man? Because he was a recognizable fighter attached to the UFC for so many years, that’s why.
This is exactly why Dana White doesn’t really have much to worry about with the Rampage situation. Brown nose? Why? Why does the man behind the UFC brand have to brown nose a fighter who left? As a fighter, Rampage needs the UFC, not the other way around. If he decides to return to fighting, he’s not gonna find nearly the same opportunities outside of the UFC, that’s for damn sure.
kimura thats why i think he will be back in the ufc,he may have a match or 2 in strikeforce for some tv exposure and money but he will be back.fighter not an actor.does anyone feel abit pissed he quit before the evans fight?i do because they talked all this stuff on the show and now when i watch i know they aint fighting for good now.
kimura, good points on the ufc hardcore fans and the ones who have heard bout ufc.i think theres alot more hardcore fans adding by the day.the biggest holdback is the ground game to atract fans,it looks abit dull to the average checking it out but that is part of fighting,i love seeing 2 guys tussling for position, sneaky game plans on throwing limbs out there to make your opponent go for submissions so you can try and get out in the scramble and see if it pays off or you get armbarred or sumert, you know what i mean?judo has to be the best fighting technique ive seen, the throws and controls and timing.ive lent people mma dvds and said give it a go but they dont seem impressed,my girlfriend watches tuf but when it comes to the fight she says it bores her.HOW i dont know.it’s building and building fans nicely which only means more shows and more events to choose from.
Honestly rampage is a dumbass if he leaves mma for one movie. Kimura & Daley i agree with everything both you guys are saying, the ground game is extremly boring if you have no clue whats goin on. I’m gonna throw this in there to rampage is afraid of rashad, king mo, & machida because he knows he can lose those fights
I think we all know that Quinton Jackson has been a strong MMA fighter, and even though some of his notoriety is for the bizarre traffic incident he was involved in, he is a well known personality.
I’m usually the one saying I don’t care what happens outside the ring, and I’ve never been overly hung up on what kind of personality a fighter has, as long as I enjoy the way he takes care of business where it counts, on the mat.
Have to say at this point and in this case, I’ve kind of been less and less impressed with Rampage since being exposed to his personality and his coaching style on TUF. He comes off to me like a guy who has a hard time seeing beyond “I, me, mine…” Sure seems like Rashad has put a lot more into making sure his team has good trainers and an opportunity to learn within the context of the TV show, much more so than Rampage.
Then we find out ‘Page is going to act in a movie and wants to push back a fight he has previously committed to, regardless of having agreed to a date and an opponent, subsequent to the TUF build-up. Just seems to me to be bad business, and even more so, inconsiderate and just not all that intelligent a decision. Don;t know what kind of money they’re going to pay Jackson for this movie role, but it would have to be substantial to approach not only what he would make for the Evans fight, but for whatever subsequent fights it sounds like he’s ready to walk away from. The whole thing just seems almost childish, and impetuous in a seriously immature way.
Page supposedly didn’t back down from Machida, he was told to be coach on tuf and was told he would fight Machida after the show. This is according to Page, it doesn’t make sense to me as we know the coaches always fight each other after. According to him he was told that this was a different type of tuf and that wouldn’t happen. So far from what I’ve seen on the show he’s given no indication that this was the case. Regardless, he’s upset at Dana for talking smack and I don’t blame him. Nor do I blame Dana for being upset, it was bad business on Pages part as well. Anyway who really gives a crap, the show will go on and there will be other interesting match ups down the line. It’s a shame that the feud won’t be settled, but oh well there will be others.
yo cisco not only that, but Rampage turned down a title shot against rashad, then and then a fight with machida. e turned down those fights because of TUF, but Rashad took the Machida fight AND is coaching on TUF, so there goes Rampages excuse. And I love that Rampage called Rashad a little bitch and a boy when he’s the one that’s not fighting anymore, and after Rashad beat down a guy Rampage lost a 5 round decision to. Not to mention we’ve all seen Rampage take worse beatings than the one Machida gave Rashad. I think Shogun and Wanderlei would agree with us too.
