Jones will be training with Greg Jackson and Bomb Squad
Talented light heavyweight prospect Jon Jones (9-0) announced he was going to start working with the esteemed training camp of Greg Jackson.
Rumors quickly circulated that Jones would be leaving the East coast in favor of the “Land of Enchantment” Albuquerque, NM, but that isn’t the case.
Ryan Ciotoli, Jones’ manager and one of his trainers, confirmed to MMA Madness, that Jones will be spending time with the Jackson, but it will be similar to the training schedule of welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre — spending a few weeks at his home camp, Bomb Squad, before working with Jackson as the fight gets closer.
Either way, Ciotoli sees benefits from having Jones work with both camps.
“He likes to get different looks from different coaches,” Ciotoli said. “I want the best the best for Jon. I want him to be champion. We’ll do whatever it takes.”
Ciotoli has no timetable on when Jones will fight next, though he’s aiming for a November date.
