Thomson Breaks Leg Again

Josh Thomson has been itching to get back into the cage. He suffered a leg injury that forced him out of his bout with Gilbert Melendez at the Aug. 15 Strikeforce card, and he re-injured the leg during training, MMA Weekly reports.

MMA Weekly is reporting that Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh Thomson has broke his leg yet again.

The Web site reports that Thomson re-injured the limb while practicing, and he is getting X-rays to see the extent of the injury.

Thomson is looking to unify his lightweight title with Gilbert Melendez’ interim title, and is aiming for a Dec. 19 Showtime date for the two to fight.

    Damn, at this point it’ll have been so long since thomson has fought that he might need a tune-up fight before the melendez rematch. Too bad he’s the champ and doesn’t have that luxury…
