Thales Leites signed a two-fight deal with MFC.
Maximum Fighting Championship president Mark Pavelich announced through his Twitter account that former UFC middleweight contender Thales Leities has signed with the promotion.
MMA Weekly reported that Leites will make his debut on Dec. 4 in Edmonton, Alberta against Bryan Baker.
Leites was at one point the No. 1 contender in the UFC middleweight division. But after a pair of lackluster performances, he was released from his contract and hasn’t fought since his loss to Alessio Sakara at UFC 101.
His opponent Baker is riding a four-fight win streak, with wins over Rory Singer and Matt Howich. His only career loss came at the hands of Chael Sonnen.

i think this goes to show,if the ufc give you a title shot make sure you go and give it your best.to me i think leithes got hurt and tried to lure silva in,thats apart of fighting, stratagy, lost a split to a very good sakara.i think his cut was premature but if he is going to be a top contender in the ufc maybe he needs to leave and add more to his game and get in some wars and come back with abit more to offer.the mardquart and kapmann fights he was in were wars but the more he is in against people he can handle he can figure out how to get out of stuff unlike where a mardquart wont give you the time to think.to mention herb dean should have took 1point but not 2.so mardquart would have won a split decision.
