Serra has only fought twice since winning the welterweight title
Matt Serra will return to the octagon February 6 for a yet-to-be announced card, MMA Fanhouse reported.
No opponent has been named, but Frank Trigg is reported to be one of the frontrunners.
Serra has only fought twice since his upset victory against Georges St. Pierre. He lost his rematch with St. Pierre, then lost a long anticipated grudge match against Matt Hughes.
The lack of active competition for Serra since the Hughes fight has been less to do with injury, and more to do with the oversight of his new gym. The 8,300 square foot MMA gym will open soon in Long Island, NY.
