The Strikeforce: Evolution card is also the comeback of former middle weight champion Cung Le. The event will be held in San Jose, CA, Thomson’s hometown and is just 45 minutes from Melendez’s hometown of San Francisco.
Little has been released on who will also be on this card. Scott Smith is rumored to be facing Cung Le, though no confirmation has been made. Keep checking MMAMadness.com for all the updates!

OK, if Thomson can’s tay healthy for this fight, I’m sorry but he needs to be stripped of thte title already. If Strikeforce wants to survive as a major MMA promotion, they need recognizable champions, and lightweight and heavyweight are big problems right now because of it. Thomson hasn’t fought since the Ashe Bowman fight…HA! Meanwhile, Alistair Overeem apparently has a contract that doesn’t even require him to defend his title!!?? WHat the fuck is that?
