UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar's illness is more serious than first thought.
Brock Lesnar’s health woes continue.
After being diagnosed with mononucleosis, the Associated Press is reporting that Lesnar is suffering from a bacterial infection in his intestinal tract. The article added that Lesnar is in a Bismarck, N.D. hopsital, but none would confirm nor deny his stay.
The report quotes UFC president Dana White as saying that he is unsure about Lesnar’s fighting career, and White added that he wanted Lesnar to check into the Mayo Clinic in Rochest, Minn for further treatment.
Lesnar was supposed to fight Shane Carwin at UFC 106, but the bouts with mono and a bacterial infection have put the company’s title situation in limbo.

As Brock’s health woes continue, the UFC’s heavyweight division woes continue as well. It’s a good thing heavyweight is as deep as it’s been in the UFC for a long time now. I say the UFC remake the Cain Velasques-Shane Carwin fight, and the winner of that face Nogueira if he beat Rothwell for the interim belt if Brock can’t be back in action by then. This sucks for Lesnar seriously. The hater will be all overe him, I bet the Sherdog forums right now are filled with threads making fun of him. I don’t think he’s a prick, he just knows how to spark our emotions as fans. Honestly, I feel like it’s hard for a guy to be n that line of work and not be somewhat humble. He comes from a very hardworking background growing up. He learned his heel-theatrics from WWE, can’t hate him for that. I hope he gets better, because if he can’t fight anymore, we’ll always wonder what could ahve been…
Plus, if Brock couldn’t fight anymore, JTSparks might fall into a fit of depression and drink himself to death.

first most as a fellow human being and having your life long dream threatened due to illness is one thing but this could be serious and he is a husband and a father to be.

With all the heavyweights out with Brock’s career in jeopardy it might open the door for Anderson Silva to hold the title.

Arny, that’s a good point, ANderson SIlva may very well have problems with Brock Lesnar if he ever decides to move to HW and make a title run. Then again, a guy like Cain Velasquez could definatley give Anderson problems if he can close the distance and hit takedowns. The main issues for Cain against Anderson would be 1. the speed at which Cain could explode into a takedown and or body clonch on Anderson, and 2. If Cain gets Anderson o his back, can he pass the guard and control him?, if he can satisfy both of those factors, I think he’d do well against Anderson, but who really knows, right?
by the time brock is back in the ufc so will neil grove ready to tear a new asshole for him.i think we are all agreed it should be carwin and valsquez for the interim title.brock has done well so far but his real test’s are yet to come with nog,valasquez and carwin,if he beats all them then im with you sparky that he is the best.

Hey man, even though Neil Grove Already got cut from the UFC doesn’t mean he can’t come back. Plenty of dudes get cut and come back, sometimes more than once. Look at Vitor Belfort, he’s been cut and brought back how many times now? Plus, I never said Grove couldn’t do well in the UFC, especially in the ehavyweight division.
We all know I’m not the biggest Brock fan but I wish him well and hope he makes a speedy recovery.
