Brandon Cash makes weight and is ready to take on Shane Del Rosario.
The fourth installment in the Strikeforce Challenger series features two of Strikeforce’s emerging contenders in the lightweight division. The event is scheduled to take place November 6th, at the SaveMart Center in Fresno and will also air a live broadcast on Showtime.
Although the fight between Evangelista and Gurgel was originally slated as a 155-pound contest, the California State Athletic Commission explained that the fight was eventually contracted at a catch-weight of 160-pounds.
So, despite the 159-pound weigh-in for the main event fighters, both men did make weight. The rest of fighters on the main card also climbed the scales and successfully made their contracted weight.
Unfortunately, one fighter on the preliminary card, Chris Culley, missed the 146-pound weight limit for his fight against Casey Olson by a full two and a half pounds. According to the CSAC, Culley will have forfeit 20 percent of his fight purse to his opponent as a penalty.
Showtime will be airing the main card portion of the event Friday night starting at 8:00PM/PT.
