The WEC and UFC could finally merge in 2010.

Sources close to the WEC told TATAME.com that the UFC will add new weight classes in early 2010, and will bring fighters under contract with the WEC over to the UFC.

Zuffa has owned both the UFC and WEC since 2006, and we have already seen the WEC light heavyweight and middleweight divisions dissolved into the UFC.

Is this decision at all influenced by the UFC’s recent string of injuries? Stay tuned to MMAMadness.com as we continue to monitor this story.
