Late Changes Firm Up WEC 37 Fight Card
MMA Weekly has the scoop that :

World Extreme Cagefighting has finalized its final fight card of the year. WEC 37 is scheduled to take place on Dec. 3 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

The show is headlined by WEC bantamweight champion Miguel Torres defending his title against undefeated veteran Manny Tapia. It will be telecast live on Versus.

Joining the title fight on the televised main card will be undefeated top ranked bantamweight Brian Bowles taking on Brazilian Will Ribeiro. The winner of the fight will likely become the next challenger for the WEC bantamweight title.

The remaining fights on the televised main card include a battle of Top 10 featherweights, as IFL featherweight champion Wagnney Fabiano faces off with former Shooto lightweight champion Akitoshi Tamura, and DREAM veteran Joseph Benavidez faces off with Rage in the Cage veteran Danny Martinez.

Added to the undercard is a welterweight bout between popular local Las Vegas fighter Blas Avena taking on Illinois based fighter Kevin Knabjian.

Two bouts have changed since their initial announcement. NCAA wrestling champion Johnny Hendricks will now face East Coast fighter Justin Haskins. Hendricks was originally scheduled to face longtime WEC veteran Alex Serdyukov. The other change sees undefeated young featherweight Josh Grispi off the card due to injury. His planned opponent, Brazilian Diego Nunes, will now face undefeated Midwest fighter Cole Province.
