In the latest addition to its much-heralded Season 2 roster, Bellator Fighting Championships announced Monday the acquisition of emerging MMA star Steve Carl, who will compete in the promotion’s upcoming eight-man welterweight tournament beginning in April.

Bellator Fighting Championships continued its active offseason on Thursday when it announced the acquisition of one of MMA’s most heralded free agents, 19-2 welterweight standout Dan Hornbuckle.

Bellator Fighting Championships announced Wednesday the signing of highly touted MMA prospect Ben Askren to an exclusive long-term agreement.

Bellator Fighting Championships will broadcast its second and third seasons on FOX Sports Net, NBC and Telemundo through a unique and landscape-altering alliance. Bellator’s first-of-its-kind, tournament-based mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion will be available nationwide for 24 weeks in 2010 to 112 million homes through NBC, 82 million homes through FOX Sports Net (FSN) and its regional sports network affiliates, as well as to 62 million homes through Telemundo.

Josh LaBerge went to train with Greg Jackson’s elite camp in Albuquerque, NM. He used the new training regiment and plans on using it in his upcoming WCF fight with Dan Bonnell.

Kerry Vera has signed a four fight deal with Strikeforce. Vera won the reality show “Fight Girls” in 2007, and made her pro MMA debut last May for Bellator Fighting Championship
