John Franchi is relaxed. He wasn’t bothered about his last fight, and has already moved onto the next one. The next challenge for Franchi? Cub Swanson at WEC 44.

Jose Aldo, a 23-year-old explosive striker in the World Extreme Cagefighting® featherweight division, is riding a five-fight win streak in the organization, including an eight-second TKO over Cub Swanson in his last fight in June. Just days away from his first world title shot against champion Mike Brown at The Palms Casino in Las Vegas on Nov. 18, the native of Rio de Janeiro feels that his time to rule the featherweight division has come.

DREAM 11 saw the return of Kazushi Sakuraba, a featherweight champion crowned and a highly-anticipated rubber match. Bibiano Fernandes took home the featherweight grand prix title and the featherweight title, and Shinya Aoki finally claimed the lightweight title.

Rumors were floating that Urijah Faber might leave the WEC for more money in other promotions. That turned out to be untrue, as WEC general manager Reed Harris confirmed to MMA Junkie that Faber had signed a multi-fight deal with the WEC.

The Combat Sports Championships completed weigh-ins Thursday night at the Argosy Hotel & Casino in anticipation of its first-ever card on Friday night.

UFC veterans Kevin Randleman and Michihiro, along with ATT middleweight Jorge Santiago, have been added to the eleventh Sengoku event. While the fighters have yet to be paired with opponents the announcement is speculated to come shortly from World Victory Road.
