Benson Henderson unified the WEC lightweight titles after defeating Jamie Varner in the third round of their championship fight. Former WEC featherweight champs Urijah Faber and Mike Brown were also victorious. The win secured Faber’s shot at featherweight kingpin Jose Aldo.

Twenty-two-year-old Chris Horodecki will make his WEC debut Saturday night against Anthony Njokuani. After gaining widespread recognition as a knock out artist with a baby face in the International Fight League, Horodecki knows he has a lot of expectations to live up to in his first fight back on a national level. When asked if his obvious game plan was to walk away with a knock out Horodecki was quick to respond.

On Saturday, March 6, 2010, WEC heads to Columbus, Ohio with a stacked card headlined by a world bantamweight title fight between champion Brian Bowles and number one contender Dominick Cruz. What’s more, WEC’s first trip to Columbus features the return of former bantamweight champion Miguel Angel Torres, as well as the comeback of former UFC(r) lightweight titleholder Jens Pulver.

Jose Aldo accomplished his dream at 23 years old. The Brazilian finished featherweight champion Mike Brown to lift the title off of the American Top Team fighter.

Benson Henderson went to San Antonio on a business trip. He was set on taking care of business by winning the interim lightweight championship verses Donald Cerrone at WEC 43 which would lead to a title shot with WEC lightweight champion Jamie Varner.
